Abstract: Based on the field investigation of the Chinese language curriculum in Cambodian colleges and universities as well as the
current fields and ways of Sino-Cambodian cooperation and exchange, this paper analyzes the development track, school-running
mode, curriculum setting and teaching effect of Chinese language curriculum in Cambodia's higher education system, and summarizes several advantages of Chinese language education in Cambodia's higher education system: such as strong support from the Chinese and Cambodian governments, broad mass base, high return on learning etc. But at the same time, there are some challenges, such as improper Chinese curriculum, single training mode and high student turnover rate. Based on this, while developing Chinese education in colleges and universities, the Cambodian education department should also strengthen the supervision and evaluation of Chinese curriculum and talent training, and cultivate more Chinese talents for the development of Cambodia on the premise of ensuring the healthy and orderly development of Chinese education in Cambodia.
